ADHD Assessment
An ADHD assessment consists of gathering information from the patient, their family and/or teachers, comprehensive psychological testing, and other assessments as needed. The clinician typically looks for symptoms that are consistent with ADHD and which have persisted over time and across different settings. In addition to symptom-based criteria, it is important to consider other potential contributing factors (such as learning disabilities) in order to ensure an accurate diagnosis. Treatment recommendations are based on the results of the assessment.
